wolves are one thing i could NOT hunt. i think they're beautiful. i know they can destroy livestock but i just couldn't do it. i never get to see them down here but i do see coyotes all the time.

Right hand but as our trainer recommends loose leash walking for us as opposed to "heeling" I def mix it up. Luka leads the way haha

Our local husky rescue has recently obtained a bunch of dogs. I made the mistake of lookin at pictures. I wonder if josh would mind if I came home with just a few extra mouth to fees? No big deal right? Hahah

Most people down here where I'm from hunt because they enjoy it but also you don't really go buy venison (deer meat) from a grocery store lol. It has a slightly more gamey taste than cow but I've grown up eating it so its one if the reasons I look forward to fall. We have a cabin in Arkansas with multiple deer mounted. Like Kyle said I would never think it offended anyone really simply because its SO common here. Just so you know though there are specific hunting seasons for different animals to prevent extinction of animals. We have TONS of deer around and it helps local farmers when people hunt to prevent them from eating their crops.

good job on the buck! i just want duck season to hurry up. and don't let other people get you down for hunting. a lot of time people from different countries have different opinions. hunting is BIG here in the US. I love it and nothing tastes as good as fresh deer meat.

he didn't get a puppy. His parents did. i know everyone gets defensive over breeding but can we just leave it alone and look at the cute puppy? awwww.

thanks all for the advice! the more and more i think about it i am completely set on one breed. and that would be the siberian husky. and honestly, i don't want another puppy at all for now. luka is finally potty trained a few months ago and i just don't want to go through that all over again. now i just have to work on josh to let me adopt one next year

I want another husky. I love the breed and Luka teaches me more and more every day. Josh wasn't really aware of all the work that would need to be put into Luka so he says he would like a lower maintenance breed. The thing is pitbulls are super hyper and basically just as high energy as a sibe. Like I said for now we just won't get another dog because I don't think it's fair to me to get a breed I truly don't want. All I know is I can't picture my life without a Siberian husky in it.

also, if we rescue i'm going straight to our local husky rescue and bringing one home. that is that! haha

i wouldn't say im dead set against it. i actually really like pitbulls, just never thought about owning one. Labs are out lol. my parents have one and they are not the right breed for me. As for golden retreivers, i'm not ready to let another one into my life. Houston was the best dog i've ever owned and it just still feels like i'd be replacing him. one day i will own another one, just not now. we're just going to wait awhile and i'll let josh give me all of the reasons why i should allow him to get a pitbull

it's not me that doesn't want another husky lol. its the boyfriend. i will say this little baby is cute though...

last week luka howled throughout the entire class when the trainer focused on another dog. so embarrassing.

that sucks really bad. have you thought about just finding a small part time job to have some spending money? i got an additional job waiting tables just for some extra spending money. at the end of the day, marriage is a partnership, not an ownership. He should respect you as his equal and not limit every single thing you do. i'd go to florida. just sayin.

no he didn't mention a training collar. is that like a pinch collar? he said he doesn't use those. he also mentioned that most dogs are very food motivated and recommends treats. yeah, i'm glad he is used to huskies. the other trainer that works there actually owns one so the whole facility seems familiar with them. we had about a million people come and stare at luka like he's some exotic animal though while we were in the class. guess there's not that many huskies down here in mississippi. haha

it gave me a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon which no offense to the breed i think is ugly lol. totally not the dog for me.

lol Everything pretty much revolves around Luka as well. He knows that so sometimes he's annoying. for example if we watch tv he comes over stands in front of us and starts barking. no reason except to get our attention. the trainer said he could tell Luka just wants attention constantly. Luckily for us he's worked with multiple huskies. yeah we've been working on the sit hand gesture and "watch me" for a few minutes twice a day. He said not to do it any longer than that or he'll get bored. i already have a feeling stay and lay down will be more difficult as Luka already knew how to sit.

i could really care less about having a guard dog LOL. there's still only a few tamaskan breeders in the USA and if i could bet they are pretty pricy. i've always thought they were beautiful though. i dont know, part of me feels bad for pitbulls because they are always judged so harshly. and the ones i've met are all sweet babies. not saying i want one though!

i also lucked out, there's only 2 other dogs in our class and we go on a wednesday night so petsmart is not as busy. thanks for the advice! i'll probably skip the advanced class then. i knew we had to go as Luka jumps on everyone and i'm convinced i'm the worst dog trainer ever so i needed help haha. he also tries to bite my hands, only me though, and even though i do the ignore response and walk away or turn away from him he will not stop doing it! the trainer is helping out with that a lot. The first day he wanted our objective and my boyfriend said "To let Luka know that everything does not ALWAYS revolve around him." HAHAHA. we'll see how that goes.

I also feed around 2 cups a day. When he was younger sometimes he had to have a little less and seriously if i even went 1/4 of a cup over 2 cups he had the runs. they have such sensitive stomachs. i don't even look at the package honestly. you could always try a grain free. but do take note that if you switch to a grain free you feed even less than usual.

that's in the UK though. i'm in the US. lol

the boyfriend has been sending me pictures of a blue pitbull with captions like "mommy, come get me!" and things like that.
