8. As soon as i get home i will post a picture but Luka has this once patch on his snout where the fur is like thinning out and i can see his skin. It doesn't look dry or irritated just his fur thinning out to a little bald patch. Any ideas what this is? allergies maybe? i mean i've seen him itch his face but not often!
9. great advice everyone. i actually didn't get to see these till today. However, i tried to just calm down and forget about it and went in to work. The new bartender was there training but whatever. Anyways i wound up speaking to another assistant manager (he's worked there 5 years) to just discuss my frustrations. I explained to him that i was more disappointed that i wasn't even considered for the position when i feel like i work so hard and i'm reliable. He explained to me that they really just needed another guy bartender to help run things and that matt was the only choice. He told me not to quit and that they would be adding more bartenders very soon and that he thought i was perfect. Anyways, later on last night our manager (also owner) was talking about how many people were upset that they hadn't been picked. He said that most of these people had been on the brink of being fired and why would he move them up? He then said and not one of them has even mentioned wanting to bartend to me! I figured I had nothing to lose so i just told him well i'd love to bartend, i've been wanting to. The only reason i haven't said anything to you directly is because i felt like i had to earn the right. He then told me that he knows i work hard, he never worries about me doing my job correctly, i always show up and usually early, and he trusts me completely with his business. He told me that we will speak in a couple of weeks and that he would have no problem letting me start training to bartend. So moral of the story even though i didn't see it in time, Marc your advice was great. from now on, i will always talk to the manager to see why i'm not being considered for a position. it may not always turn out like i want but at least i will know why.
10. he's not full time either. no one there is.it's a restaurant. only managers are full-time. oh no, i would never quit my office job. this is a night-time position. excuse me for not mentioning that.
11. so this is probably about to sound really conceited of me but i don't mean it to come across that way. i have a really good office job that i love and have worked at for three years. it pays my bills and i like the challenge of the work i do. however, for extra money (my shoe obsession and whatever else) i wait tables at a local restaurant/bar. at first, i worked there up to 5-6 days per week and i just realized it was exhausting and the money wasn't really that great except for the weekends so i cut down to a couple of days per week. I've been talking to the assistant manager for awhile now about moving up to the bartender position when someone leaves or we need another one. She said i was the next person to be moved because i've worked there a year and i work HARD. (i'm not complimenting myself i just really do try to work as hard as i can). Well my roommate has been bartending there for a little over a year and is now currently leaving. What happens? The manager moves up a guy who has barely worked there 6 months and is LAZY! needless to say i'm mad. I don't mean to feel sorry for myself because i know i could have it much worse but it's not fair that someone who has no seniority gets moved up. So honestly, i don't really "need" the money right now and i'm just about to put in my 2 weeks notice and leave. is this overdramatic? i've just come to terms with the fact that i will never be moved up and i'd rather go wait tables somewhere else where i might have that opportunity one day. i just can't bare to say there i don't think. opinions?
12. i dont know but i would gladly take that box of chupa chips to help clean up.
13. yeah our rescue groups here take into consideration where you live, if you have kids, what type of lifestyle you live, things like that. they would never just tell you nope you can't have that one you have to have this one or dogs would NEVER get adopted. if thats how it is where you live, that's just dumb. lol excuse me.
14. well i have three i would like to have but i'm very picky about the coloring (lol when it comes to huskies i could care less theyre all beautiful) Golden Retriever (my first dog, EVER. he was the sweetest, most loyal, amazing dog i've ever owned.) i still consider getting another one because i love their personality. GSD Akita (love the coloring from the movie Hachi)
15. loved are you afraid of the dark!!! it terrified me as a kid now i realize how corny it was!!
16. AAAHH Real Monsters!! Hey Arnold!! (Move it football head!!!)
17. How old is she? Luka's eyes changed a LOT in the beginning and just now have stopped changing. It is possible though, Luka has rings in both eyes and it hasn't seemed to change in months. Luka had all blue eyes at this point in life Then we got to a blue/brown. The brown was very bright and i was convinced his entire eye would turn brown. (around 9 weeks) then around 11 weeks the blue kept getting lighter at 16 weeks nothing has changed my point is over the next few weeks anything is possible. take weekly pics to track progress. i'm very interested in seeing how they turn out!
18. oh i am SURE she will be. huskies are a one of a kind breed i tell you.
19. Many colleges in the USA don't allow freshman to live off campus because they want them to experience the full college lifestyle. Not to mention many 18 year olds are not mature enough. Btw have you already applied to Iowa state? I applied to 5 colleges and went from there. Different factors partake in your acceptance. P.s. when you come to the us many people won't know what you mean by "uni" lol I'd never heard that term till I joined this forum.
20. Where I grew up (Memphis, tn) there is a lot of crime. Not too long ago we had the highest murder rate in the states. I personally would never carry a gun around but I do like to know how to use one and we have a few in our home. People break in all the time around here. 2 days ago someone broke in a local home and robbed them and dumped gasoline on the couple that lived there and their 3 month old baby. Reasons like that are why I feel I need to know how to shoot.
