  1. I have 2 malamute girls aged 1 year and one of them is a nightmare to walk, i have tried the stop and wait, the turn in the oposite direction, the gen con lead and the haltie and she still pulls like mad. I even tried a harness which is designed to let you pull them back but she still pulls like mad. my partner is now saying if she cannot be trained she will have to go but we love her too much so if anyone can help us it would be a blessing ..thank you
  2. Thanks Biggles we may have to get a no spill bowl I think. Bing, They do stop on command but when we are not there to give the command then the problems start. They have access to water all the time of course and it's always outside as they have access to the garden all the time. We don't always see them doing it until they come bounding indoors wet through lol. Thanks for your reply.
  3. Hi everyone. Our 2 mallys love water, so much so that when we put drinking water down for them they dig in the bowl with both paws just as if they were digging a hole in the garden. We have tried varying sizes of bowl and we have also raised the bowl off the ground. We don't have a problem with them getting wet but they eventually tip the bowl over leaving themselves with no water to drink and if we are not around for a couple of hours we worry about them not being able to drink. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Val - we sure do forgive Craig it was a very nice thing to do. This looks like a fab forum and I am sure we will enjoy it. Franklin Phil - just short of huge is right. They wil be around 25 inches at the shoulder, chunkier than the husky. They are very powerful dogs when full grown hence we are trying to train them not to jump up at folks - ok right now but when they weigh in at 80lbs a piece it will be a different story lol. Mollys Mum - we hope you enjoy your mally as we are enjoying ours, it's nice to know one got re-homed. There are so many for sale when they get fully grown and folks realise how big they get. Thanks to everyone who has welcomed us to the forum
  5. Thanks for the heads up Vlad it was nice to meet you and we hope to do so again some time. Btw I saw your dogs on facebook and they are stunning.
  6. Hi everybody, Hope you all dont mind but we are not an Husky owner but we do have 2 Malamutes, our girls are sisters but are as different as chalk and cheese. They are now 17 weeks old and full of fun and mischief. We were walking the girls in town when a nice guy came up to us and gave us a business card with this address on it and told us we were welcome to join this site. So just to introduce ourselves we are Anne and Irene and our girls are Kira and Mishka. We will post some pics soon
