  1. Stormy's quantity's are good - follow them as a guide. I was inexperienced and made the mistake of switching slowly between kibble and raw and he used to be sick and runny. Just go cold turkey - excuse the pun. Just give raw, no more kibble. Chicken should be fine, though stick with wings for now as at her age she may struggle breaking up thicker bones. Introduce other meats slowly and one at a time, so if one upsets her, you know which one. Don't forget tripe, liver, raw eggs, any organ, meaty bones (once old enough) for a good balance. Good luck
  2. Labs are hungry buggers. Niber used to fluctuate when he was growing, so I stopped weighing in the end. If he looked skinny I'd give more in meals, if he was filling out I'd reduce a bit, just done it by eye. Then once he stopped growing I had an idea of how much was needed. Hard to say with a mix though as you never know which breed they will be most like
  3. as mentioned, over feeding could be a cause. Work out what percentage of the ideal adult weight you are feeding. If it is more than 2.5%, try reducing it. I ended up feeding the raw diet as Niber always had bad guts - and it sorted him straight away. Even with raw though, lamb should be introduced slowly and later on as it is rich, so it could be the lamb. Try putting a raw chicken wing or leg, with bone in one or two meals a day. It will help settle the gut and also the high calcium content really firms up their stools. Niber is purely raw fed and s**ts bullets. It used to come out like water... good luck
  4. Thanks, well if anyone wanted anything I'd do a cheap one, as it will give me a start and a photo so I can actually advertise.
  5. see this is what we worry about. We have blocked loads of holes around the house that we know of but they have been in the kitchen, play room, dining room. I got four kids, one only 16 months old, so always on his hands and putting things in his mouth. Had poison down but they just came back, Now got ammonia, peppermint oil, cat litter and urinal blocks, all pet safe remedies that don't seem to work. Even if I shoot the buggers more will just take their place.
  6. will give it a go. did you get it off sky once caught? worry about niber eating a diseased / poisoned one without me seeing - he always gives on command if i did see him though
  7. got one but they too quick outside and don't wanna be shooting indoors
  8. yeah, meeting would help. But bark? Husky? Never heard mine bark. Would be nice sometimes. Also meeting would help your neighbours feel comfortable - I should think it's quite daunting if you don't know huskies - the little 'un would love it if they're anything like my kids
  9. awesome. we've had rats around our house but Niber just isn't quick enough to catch them as they lurk near the edges and dissappear too quick. And he is far from stealthy when he stalks them. I've tried all sorts to get rid of them without poison because of the risk to Niber but they keep coming in. I've thought about buying some live rats, which are sold for snake food, and releasing them in an open space so there's nowhere to hide and let him hunt them. He is one today, so maybe he'll get better with time - I did read before i got him that they are rodent catchers - but he's yet to prove it.
  10. raw? N|iber used to itch a lot and we were worried about fleas. Chaned him to raw for various reasons, that not being one, but come to think of it, having read this, he never itches anymore. Certainly no added stuff in it that they shouldn't be getting.
  11. Cool, maybe I'll ive it a go then. I can turn a couple of the pieces I have already made into dog furniture and photo them and take it from there. Cheers
  12. My opinion on these dog crate furniture items (not to slag off the competition) is that they all look like cages, with the bars and doors etc. I would try more of a rustic furniture look - something you wouldn't know was a dog's home until you were told.
  13. This is Niber's 'den' at the moment, so it is enclosed, but not actually enclosed as in it has a small door. Maybe three sided with a completely open front would be best. Depends on the dog and the owner I suppose. Thanks for comments so far
  14. So I've been beaten to it then? Will have to look those up. I would be able to make them lockable somehow, just need to develop the ideas. Good opinions so far. Best ways to market them? Apart from ebay!?
