  1. Mine only get bathed when they roll in something particularly nasty like manure. Though I had to bathe Fenrir with medicated shampoo when he was ill as he ended up shedding his skin like a lizard, it's was so weird.
  2. I'll go for the insane husky owners option
  3. I've got a walking belt. It's more when I have to grab collars in the house when visitors arrive or when I drop food on the floor that they shouldn't eat Plan is to stay in one piece, seems I'm not so good at that lol.
  4. So cute My Fenrir had blue eyes when I got him at 8 weeks, but at about 12 weeks they were getting a darker blue, then slowly turned dark green and then settled on a greeny/hazel colour.
  5. She's beautiful, Fenrir's sisters in his litter were similar colouring, more sable than red. I never got to see any grown up pictures though. I think his mum was sable too, though looking very bedraggled looking after a litter of 10 puppies, she was a lovely dog. Getting a new member of the family is so exciting, have fun
  6. Oh so sweet. The puppy stage is hard work, I guess that's why they're so adorable so you can't get mad at them. :-p
  7. Thanks I think it was people on here that convinced me a 2nd husky was a good idea. They were definitely right. 2 is so much better than one. I'd get a 3rd but I only have two hands :-p
  8. I used to use the forums a while back, but for whatever reason I stopped. So I'll reintroduce myself. I'm Belle, 28 in Liverpool. I have two huskies, Fenrir I've had since a pup, 3 year old red husky. And Freyja I adopted from rescue last year, she's a 4 year old husky cross. I've just bought a pawtrekker scooter to take the huskies out pulling. I can't wait. I've wanted to do this for ages, but last year I broke my elbow, then Fenrir became incredibly poorly, he was eventually diagnosed with hypothyroidism and is now much better with medication. Then I tore the cartilage in my knee this summer so I've been on crutches for 6 months, I'm having surgery this week at long last. So beginning of next year when I'm fixed and walking we'll start on the scooter. So exciting So hi, hopefully I can get some advice and I'm tempted by the husky camp, I've heard lots of great stuff about previous years.
  9. I'm interested in coming with my two lunatics. Not sure if I can get the whole week off but I can certainly do a long weekend. I'll probably be camping, is it best getting an electric hook up or not?
  10. People always ask what breed Fen is as he's a red. Though usually I just get "Is that a wolf?" Lol. Heaven knows what they'll make of Freyja as she's not got the typical husky look to her either.
  11. Fen is my red husky, and Freyja is my beautiful new husky cross
  12. Well today I collected Freyja! She's beautiful and gets on with Fen really well. Thanks for the tips. I've got a walking belt anyway, but it's certainly much easier to walk both dogs using it. I think I'm quite lucky, they don't seem to fight over toys or food. But I'll keep them out of reach when I leave them.
  13. I took Fen to the local dogs home today to meet a gorgeous 3 year old husky cross bitch. She was lovely, and they got on really well. Walked well together, played together and chilled out together. So I think I'm going to adopt her! However this will be my first time owning two biggish dogs on my own, any tips for me? I cope well with Fen on my own but I think he'd be much happier with a companion. I'm so excited
  14. I didn't realise there was a choice, I've only looked into what they had on zooplus. I'm going to have a gander now and see what other options there are
  15. Cheers I'll go for size 1 in that case
