I agree with valkyries that some dogs get better over time. Rafeal would run off, though he likes me rubbing his belly with the brush once I'm finished so he doesn't mind now. Maybe see if there's a way you can make it enjoyable for him.

I live in a small town in WA where we mainly see staffy/kelpie/labrador mixes so a Husky is quite a stunner in most people's opinion. I still get the "snow dog" comments lol.

If you lived where I do I'm pretty sure anyone who saw Lunar would be fussing over her. It's hard to judge a situation without seeing it, though in my opinion Huskies never sound like they have any kind of temperament issues when they 'talk'. In my opinion they just sound goofy lol. I think you just happened to come by people who don't care much for dogs/huskies, which is their loss.

Balto is still very young so it wouldn't surprise me. Rafeal went from medium grey to a darker coat and for all I know it could still be changing. Then and Now

While most vet's are great at their job, I would disagree that they are on top of the hierarchy of animal knowledge. It's a combination of vet's, breeder's, trainers, judges etc.. That carry good knowledge. My local vet carries quality dog food which has human grade meat as the first ingredient, though there are some area's which I can see they lack knowledge in outside of veterinary practices. EDIT: It is obvious they are doing their best to get people to buy their food at our vet as well.

One thing that annoys me is when someone comes over and gets the dogs excited (and swings their hands around like bait) and then wonder's why they jump all over them. I agree that they wont listen unless your calm, it's okay to play but not when you want them to listen IMO.

I find the people behind the dogs to be just as influential. I have spent a fair amount of time looking at the websites of breeders and one I came past really caught my eye. Their love for the breed, the articles they posted explaining the work that goes into breeding and their humbleness all impressed and inspired me. I can't post a photo for copyright reasons though their girl Spice's face is one that is hard to forget, I would consider her one of my influential Siberian's.

I live in Australia so it seems like i'll need to search a bit harder to find one with good coverage if I decide to.

I personally wouldn't bother unless I was able to find a company that also covered genetic conditions. Most I have come by will not, unfortunately.

They are adorable, it must be amazing to bring up a litter of Husky pups.

Aww, she is precious It's great that she loves cuddles since I find some Huskies seem to prefer to have their independence.

Something I didn't expect was to need to be so careful with what I leave lying around. For the most part people complain about their dog ruining something but it's no where near as bad as leaving something around that could hurt them. I never needed to worry about it with any other breed, though when Rafeal came along he got into everything he possibly could so since that incident I am much more careful. Luna is a gorgeous pup

Perhaps try imagining how you would feel looking back on it. Would you truly miss seeing your child get married and having them around for family gathering. Seeing them succeed etc... Or would you be glad that you had the extra time to devote to your job, dog and other things. Do you think having a child would make the things you want to do a challenge? Do you think you can succeed in what you want to do in life with a child? Like everyone has said, it's your choice.
