  1. Aww that's a shame. We did have 2 cats but after I came through one morning to find my black cat trying to kill Kira she went to a new home with no other pets. This was after she had lived with the cats for 2 years without a problem. I did spend an unbelievable amount of time afterwords making sure that my other cat wouldn't do the same but it's their own personalities and these 2 don't clash
  2. Perfect example of a cat and husky living in harmony.
  3. I would like to add my experiences. When I got Kira I was told that she would grow up and eat my baby, kill my cats and eventually turn on us. I went out of my way to ensure she was over the top socialised. She is exactly a month to the day apart in age from my little girl born august and Kira was born September both on the 18th. My little girl can cuddle, pat, brush and walk Kira with no issues at all and they aren't even 2 yet. As for the cats. Well iv never seen a stronger bond than between Kira and captain. She will cuddle him all day every day if she could. They sleep in the same bed and everything. So my advice is. Don't let people cloud your decisions with their judgements from a stereotype they know nothing about in the first place and alway always take the support you are given from anyone and everyone in the husky world as they speak from experience and can be more help than anything. I was just very lucky that my best friend who guided me more than any one with my girl has 2 amazing huskies one of which is a rescue from the sspca.
  4. You do what's right for you. Don't listen to the nasty things they say. You were being an adult about it and they should respect what you want. My opinion is that well when my little one was born I wasn't allowed to do anything which made me want to go against everyone. (My other halves parents) that and they made my pregnancy very stressful when I had no problems. To prove a point 5 days after my daughter was born I got both of us dressed built the pram (I wasn't allowed that either) and went for a 10 mile walk with my baby and my dog. I got a train home but you know what it felt good! The point I'm trying to make is don't let others control you and your baby. Your the parent, your in charge. You make sure you stand up for yourself and make the point often if you have to that it's your decision and that they have to respect that because your baby is yours not theirs. To this day I still have wars with the in-laws but I always win now. I also have the advantage of telling my daddy and his advice
  5. I think he's just lazy to be honest. We bumped into him a couple of weeks ago at a local park and he gave me his phone number and added me on Facebook. This is a start lol but iv waited over a year now for her papers
  6. Haha thanks val! I like to think buster was saying cheese! Haha I look forward to chatting to you also
  7. Haha yeah and I'm currently looking into getting another parrot just not an African grey this time! The one we had called me nasty names and kept trying to land on my baby! Lol if I didn't have my animals I don't know what I would do! Love them all to bits! My partner understands that I like to keep busy! I train my animals haha! The cat is as obedient as a dog and Kira is just a little angel! I'm currently working on training mice haha! They are quite smart for little animals! They surprised me quite a lot!
  8. That's brilliant! can't wait to get onto some good help pages
  9. Haha corn snakes are great! I got pinky(the orange one, I don't know the actual name) from my partners work and it was a case of me walking in and pointing saying I want that one haha and he bought me her! Perky was a friends and she didn't want him anymore so I took him! The royal python finchy was a birthday present to my partner and he got me my mice because again I pointed at one in his work and said it was cute! Then I went to a pet shop near our house and there was one that they couldn't sell so I brought him home for 50p haha! The carpet python was from someone that couldn't look after him anymore but he's not really that hand tame lol
  10. So in our house we have 4 snakes, 2 corn snakes (pinky and perky), a royal python(finchy) and a carpet python(hissy) he hisses a lot, 17 adult mice that all have names (2 pregnant and 4 with babies) in total 37 babies. They are pets only! We do not feed the snakes with them! Just incase anyone suggests. haha and a cat called buba who is a rascal! Kira is our most recent addition! We also have big buster the border collieX flat coated retriever! I don't have a picture of hissy because I'm scared of him haha
  11. I came home one day to find this! I leave the crate as a safe place for kira to go when she wants quiet time and the cat invaded her quiet time!
  12. Thank you everyone for the welcome!
  13. Hopefully it would be great! We have.4 snakes! 3 of which I like because they are small haha, 35 mice because I liked the look of 2 in the pet shop and ended up buying more and more then discovered that my apparent male was a female woops! I now sell them to pet shops keeps their business going. I'm terrified of chickens! It's strange I know haha
