Originally they were a off-shoot of the Canadian Eskimo Dog (Or Inuit Dog depending on which name you want to use...I prefer Inuit) that got isolated in Labrador and as numbers declined they breed (even encouraged to do so in many cases) with wolves. At later dates other breads like malamute were added etc...but the wolf breading still occasionally happens (in fact, a case very recently).
People are trying to get the breed recognised and going through a lot of work to prove bloodlines etc. Just so happens I was on the phone to the the main guy in getting the breed recognised tonight, a very dedicated nice guy names Scott Hudson.
I'm lucky enough to live in Labrador...Love it! and the Labrador Husky is a very fine animal (which I will own at least one of in the future)
Hope this helps a few people
Skye did the same on mine, but it wasn't the door that gave, it was the whole side of the crate thankfully. Bent it back into shape, re-clipped it together and zip tied too. Hope she doesn't try the door next!
As I said in the other thread...jump in with them! lots of splashing/playing made it fun for my girls. Got the idea after Mya joined me in the bath one day unexpectedly the little bugger....just to be close
Mine are from the same litter...nightmare at times, but wouldn't change it for the world
I wont lie it's hard work at times, but worth it
Good luck either way
My Girls.
Plan on going for a hike with the pups if the weather behaves. Would like to go for a 'boil up' too (go off, have a little camp fire and cook some food up)...but again depends on the weather.
I'm also hoping my buddy will come down and put an anchor system in the roof for me so I can practice the the rope/climbing skills he is teaching me.
But will prob end up doing non of the above, and just clean the house lol
I'm Maintenance at the Local Health Clinic (Basically Town Hospital)
It's an odd job role. I drive the ambulance, taking the nurse to call outs during the summer/early fall months and it's all done snowmobile the rest of the year. I fix stuff if I can, mop floors and change garbage lol.....basically anything that needs doing.
I can see that happening with most dogs in the end lol.
As an update with Mya and the toy, no matter what I put in it (even if it's too big to get out the small end) somehow she gets the stuff out, too smart for her own good that one......still keeps her entertained mind. Skye still finds it a little more challenging, but doesn't have the experience as Mya is a toy hog. Definitely the best interactive toy we have purchased so far.
