This might sound really weird, but it seems when Kato gets excited when my husband or I play with him he sneezes or almost sneezes. It is quite weird and I was wondering if anyones husky does the same thing.

That is crazy, I haven't had that happen to my husky. He just turned one and it seems like his "red" is getting darker.

As long as she isn't destroying anything I think she is fine. When Huskies get bored they tend to destroy things.

A couple months ago I changed Kato's food over to the Taste of the Wild. He was doing fine, but a week ago I seen flakes in his hair and thought it might be from the food. While I was in Walmart the next day I went to see if they had any pills or other items for dry skin. I ended up buying him Pet Armor Skin and Coat soft pills, he has been taking them for about a week and his skin and coat have never looked better. They recommend 2-3 tablets a day so I usually give him one after he eats at breakfast and dinner time.

She sounds like she gets a lot of attention. That is how I felt with Kato too. We ended up getting another puppy, he seems so much happier now. I love the ideas above too! Do you have a dog park near by? I know when Kato was around that age he loved going to the dog park.

It's crazy to see that some Huskies like the water, but only certain kinds. I am starting to think Kato is picky with his water . Yesterday we decided to take him to the dog beach on base and suprisingly he went in and didn't just pull away from the water. He was afraid of the waves at first, but after he warmed up to them he LOVED it. I can't get over this face ^

It comes from the ocean so the the main body of it might be about a couple miles maybe even more across, but it breaks off into little creeks throughout the river. As the river gets closer into jacksonville it gets smaller which of course Alligator's love.

We found one on Kato when he was around 4 months old and someone told us it was bad and it would get infected. Well a couple days later I see that it has fallen off, either he hit it on the crate or he chewed it off. I thought it was gone so I didn't worry about it. Then a week or so I seen that it grew back and I asked the vet and they said they didn't see anything wrong with it, just to watch it. He just recently turned one year old and he still has it and it is perfectly fine. It gets cut when he gets his nails cut.

This happened about 12 miles from us. We have never walked Kato around that part of the River, but we do walk him further down the river on base. After hearing about this I know I will never walk Kato close to that river again. I couldn't imagine walking either of my pups by the river and all of a sudden they get taken by an alligator. I feel like they killed the alligator because they don't want to risk it taking another pet or even a child.

I do agree. When you check out at Petmeds they ask you if you would like a cheaper off brand of what you selected. So far I haven't had a problem(Knock on wood). We usually get his heartworm medication from the Vet. I wish they had a pill that would take care of fleas, ticks, and heartworms. You are lucky you don't have a tick problem. We would put Kato on Trifexis, but he has thick fur and we can't spot a tick on him so I don't want to risk it. Of course since Ayla has short hair it will be easier to spot it and so far Trifexis has worked great for her. We usually get that from her Vet because she is a pup and her weight changes.

Ever since Kato was a little pup he has not liked the water . He hates taking baths, so I usually sit on the side of the tub to comfort him. He will not go in pools, lakes, or rivers. The day the movers had came to pack things up Kato was outside and decided he loved being in the rain instead of under the patio. Our friend has Kato's sister and she LOVES the water. He will, of course, go in if he is with a pup that loves the water. I just wanted to see if this was common or not. Is there anything I can do to get him use to the water?

We walk Kato everyday usually around 6pm, but since it has been hot out lately we have been trying to push it back later so it isn't so hot. We usually walk him around a mile to a mile and a half. We are usually outside walking for about 30 mins or a little more. He pants a lot after and drinks a lot, but just lays on the cold ground in the house and is perfectly fine. If it is hot for us outside we will cut the time down for the walk because we know it has to be so much worse for Kato. If it gets cooler at night you shouldn't have a problem walking for a longer period of time.
