Rathian
Skye enjoys a good dig in any bowl shaped object that contains water. She also loves to stand with her two front paws in water and then bury her face as far as she can. Saffi just looks at her with total bewilderment on her face! stustag
Hi My male Sibi only paws the water he does not dig it, this may be because the metal bowl is in a stand so is not ground level. Stu New on here so here is a picture of George (we did not name him we rescued him!)
sway
I might have to try switching to a metal bucket as well- at least for indoors. It would be nice not mopping the kitchen every 10 minutes!

kkamidoi
Makana (male) does it all the time in the water bowl & pool. He also doesn't know how to drink water. Everytime he drinks I say about 80% of it comes dripping out of his mouth after he walks away.
RobC
Nooks sometimes digs his water bowl, have no idea why he does it. Though saying that I have seen him dig in the snow to get some of the melted snow underneath and drink it. could be something to do with some instinct or other. He also picks ice cubes out of a water bowl and leaves them laying around the flat.

Huskycat
Neither Dino or Ava do it - but both our fosters Enzo and Miya do - strange huh!
Jenna_Gayle
My 3 year old Maia (female) has never done this, she drinks so sweetly! Our newly rescued Luna (9 months) does it almost everytime she drinks and sticks her entire nose under the water! She has a metal water bowl, but that doesn't seem to phase her much. Anytime there is a water hose going I have to stop and let her drink from it, too

Elaine
ok so a newbie posted that her female sibe digs in her waterbowl - me and 2 other posted that our females do the same thing so question - is it only females who dig in their water bowls or do any ov u have males who do it aswell?? and do any ov u have different breeds (aka non sibes) who do this aswell - and if u do - male or female and what breed?? lets find out if its just a female husky thing - or just a husky thing - or if all ov our dogs are weird lol My huskie boy who is 15 weeks old digs in his water bowl. He paddles until it is vertually empty. My 14 month old boy never did this but his sister did for a short time with one paw. But Timber gets both front feet in and goes for it LOL

Sparks
Yogi will dig in a paddling pool of water but not in his bowl, huskies dig their water to cool down. this is also the reason why they dig mud, they will dig a hole to lay in to cool down, because the layer of mud underneath the top layer is normally cooler.
