Puppy farmer prosecuted!

Just heard on ITV news that a puppy farm in south wales has succefully been prosecuted!

The report said the woman has recieved a £3000 fine and a ban on keeping animals for a year, they havnt even removed the dogs she has just set her a letter "asking" her to give them to the RSPCA to be rehomed!!!!

The report actually spoke to the vet that had seen some of the dogs and he said its utterly rediculous because all shes going to do is give the dogs to family and friends for a year then get them back and carry on and she'll get about £3000 for some of her litters anyway as she sells them all over the country to large chains!

Now while I find the lack of punnishment here utterly insulting to all the animal lovers and no deterant what so ever to other puppy farmers, I do think the fact that the ITV reporters investigated this farm and then passed on their finding for the woman to be prosecuted a small posertive in the whole case as I think that it puts these type of people in the media spot light and hopfully will make people who know about these places come forward to report them!

So if anyone knows of a puppy farm now is the time to get in touch with newspapers and other media try to get a whole string of these places into public view so then hopefully there will be enough attention to try to get some actual functional legislation passed!!!

The breeder we got Daughtrry from we made a conservative estimate that they were making aproxx £40,000 per year, if each of her bitches were bred twice per year and had 5 pups per litter. @ £500 per puppy

It wasn't thier main source of income either, just a sideline.

Not long after we got daughtry we heard they were selling all thier breeding bitches. . . .

we think the tax man had come calling for the undeclared income. . . . hmmmmmm
