Grumpy Busted
It's the name of the Liverpool accent - not sure where the term comes from, but it is a language all of it's own!! There are a lot of Scandinavian words in the Liverpudlian dialect, 'Lar' for example. They are decedents of Vikings! Scouse comes from Lobscouce, a type of stew. The use of this word to describe the people who ate it and called it that probably goes back to the early 19th Century, when Liverpool began to take off as a port, and it's inhabitants were exposed to the big wide world!
