HuskyCouture
This affects any "wolfy" looking canine, i.e. Tamaskans, Utonagans, Siberian Husky, German Shepherds, Northern Inuit Dog, Wolf Dogs, Akitas. http://capetban.com/ http://www.care2.com/news/member/615764297/2583180 in my opinion, this is just ridiculous. snssewell
That is crazy!!! And whats even worse is how do they figure that a GSD or Akita look wolf like ??? I did not catch the reason why they want to ban them though.Did I miss that?
Removed #1
It's a fish and wildlife issue, it looks as if it's been pushed back for a ruling until the next fiscal year...alot of government agencies begin their fiscal year in October, so I suppose that gives them time to clarify language and...well figure out how to not be overly zealous about protecting people...::sigh:: give an inch of freedom and before you know it you can't take knitting needles on airplanes because they're dangerous... dygosamikita
Knitting needles are dangerous............they have responsible for inflicting many a bad sweater on people under the ruse of being a birthday or Christmas present On a serious note...........what a load of b**ll**s. I am really surprised to see a state still trying to a pass a law like this. Most states put this kind of thing in place way back in the mid/late 90's but then several rescinded them as they were over the top and hard to enforce anyway. Some states realised that were totally unnecessary. Another perfect example of punishing the animals and not the dumb a** people who don't raise their animals correctly, or the breeders who use animals as a means to not have to work for a living. While I do agree with stopping the breeding and keeping of wolf dogs, which is what they are trying to achieve here, this will not work and is not the way to go about it. If this law does get through and you live in California, get a copy and read it carefully. When a similar law was passed in Michigan in 1999, reading the entire law saved Nikita's life. We could not afford the enclosure that the law was calling for us to build outside in order to keep her, but there was a section saying that our house could be her enclosure. In short as long as she was kept inside and never outside alone or on a lead longer than 6ft , we could keep her.
