kaptainkiely
Hi all, just a quick topic ive been meaning to post for a while having had logan now for nearly three wonderful months hes been sort of what i expected a husky to be and love him to bits. but the one thing i didnt expect was how rough and mad he play fights sometimes. he never purposely hurts other dogs but he always seems to like to bully my staffy x into playing and shes a little softy he jumps around like a mad dog and if she doesnt want to play starts whining until she does. im not sure if this is just an individual sort of thing or the breed its self. what do others think? do u have mad huskies too ? lol
HuskyCouture
Embry and Zoey both play really rough as well, they're also very vocal while playing. Zoey was playing with Embry's half sister today and it sounded like they were killing each other but they were just having fun.
kaptainkiely
yeah that what mine are like they sound like they are trying to kill each other and a lot of people at park think logan is dangerous lol he just has bags of energy but he loves nothing more than a good play fight even with me sometimes
meeshsalts
Huskies and Malamutes like to play rough (very rough), if people are not used to it they think they are trying to kill each other. But to our dogs it's just fun.

SarahNukka&Shadow
Yep rough play is the name of the game for huskies.. perhaps you could take a look at the members map at the top of the page, see if theres anyone around you that wants to do regular meet ups so your poor staffy cross can have a break! LOL I sometimes find it a little difficult to find other dogs that want to play with my two coz their so rough... my little girl isnt too bad coz shes so small (for a husky) other dogs dont find her quite so intimidating, but my big lad... poor boy he barks which puts other dogs off, but hes play bowing so I know he just wants to play with them but he can get very rough and abit dominant so he really doesnt have many friends! Bec
I don't mind some rough play to a degree, but I won't allow it past a certain point. Personally - I wouldn't let one of my dogs bully the other into playing. If my dogs want to play with other dogs they need to show good doggy manners. Sid_Wolf
Greys the same, hes too bouncy and mouths other dogs, I have no idea how to get him to stop, so he only really has husky friends Kira is great, fine with any dog, even teeny tiny ones

kaptainkiely
good to know its not just mine. hes very good most of the time with my staffy but it gets too a point sometimes where she gets fed up and just wants to rest and logan wont have non of it unless i tell him off just feel bad for doing it though as he is only playing. logan has got on well with most dogs hes meet got chased away by 2 horrible shitzu's who didnt like him which was funny to watch as you could imagine. he has a female husky mate who is a great but never can meet up due to work etc. i dont mind the playing at all i just may have to consider another husky ? in my dreams the gf says
Flyingdoc
We have 2 very very lively 6 month old boys and a 9 week old huskymute lodger - you can imagine the size differences. Our 2 do a lot of 'play' fighting.......... the roughest and instigator of all out battles is the 'pint-sized warrior'!! lol
