katie mc
awww poor skyla just seen this post!! big hugs for her the poor girl. like others have said hope it doenst change her personality towards dogs. unfortunately my border collie when she was a pup got set on by 4 staffies and 2 jack russells . she was alright (apart from a few grazes) as me and my family started kicking the dogs out the way while the owner just stood there n said "ooh bad dogs bad dogs" she hated other dogs as of that day, never fought with them but kept herself to herself and if any dogs came near her she told them off haha. katie mc
so glad shes ok n just came away with a few cuts which is awfull but atleast nothing more serious. for them to not even help u out when he attacked her is terrible, as an owner u dont think about anything u just help her out n think afterwards. thats damn right ignarant and rude them not even answering the door to ure dad or to ask how she is?!! pleased that shes wanting to go up to other dogs and wants to play.x

Cassandra & Honey
wow nix! i've only just seen this . Hugs to you and your girl. i hope you both recover quickly. Sucks that people who don't raise their animals or keep them properly can ruin a nice walk for people doing the right thing. Hopefully the bully owners are made to pay the bills for skyla. The poor thing. i've had vicious dogs charge us on quite a few occassions and some were like your situation, you just don't know they're there until their just about on your dog, then it's on. luckily skylas a big strong girl, hopefully this doesn't affect her. If it will put a smile on yours and Skylas face then we don't mind at all =] Will send it Rec.Delivery to make sure it gets there. madmally
Ahhhh poor Skyla, Loki was attacked by a staff last year it is so scary especially when it is totally unprovoked, Trying to keep your dog still and calm whilst trying to get the bull breed off without encouraging it to rip or shake. Loki was more worried about me than his wounds bless him. Hope she is right as rain soon. xx
Sqwidge
Oh Nix, just seen this, your poor little girl. Give her a hug from me xxx
Bec
Sorry to hear this Nix If this is the first incident, and the owners are prepared to contain the dog safely and only walk it on a muzzle, get professional training for it etc I would be fine with the dog not being PTS. However, if it was a repeat incident, and if they were not prepared to meet a certain level of responsibility, I'd want the dog euthanised. Sid_Wolf
OMG cant believe i missed this!! Glad Skyla's not too shook up and still happy to meet similar dogs, the more socialisation she can get the better to put the incident out of her mind. I know how you feel, there's a similar type dog in our square which hates dogs and is iffy with people too, if i know its out and about on a walk I refuse to walk our 2, its tried to go for kira before and took 2 people to hold onto it!! Hugs from all of us to Skyla

Cathy
I'm glad everything's OK. The same thing happened to us -- Dakota got attacked by an unleashed pit pull while we were out for a walk, and I was left screaming and kicking the other dog out of pure reflex. To my relief Dakota never developed a fear of other dogs, and I'm glad to hear that Skyla seems to see things the same way. Must be a husky thing! BingBlaze n Skyla
glad dakota was ok and it didnt effect him im taking skyla out to play with 2 sibes n a rottie x boxer soon - and hopefully there will be some other pooches there for her to play with too just so she knows that all dogs deffinately arent going to hurt her
meeshsalts
Shaer as talon to stick up for her, he as stepped in when another dog tried to attack her. Buck my first Husky was a true pack leader, never hurt another dog but know how to put them in their place, All dogs were expected to show him respect on his territory. We had 30 acres of fields behind our home where he was king. It didn't matter if they were Rottis, Akitas, mastifs or GSD etc or huskies, they were put in their place and know who was boss. He treated those fields as his patch and you came on with his permission. The only dogs allowed to push him about where playful bitches and puppies who could get away with murder. I think if I still lived there Talon would be like buck. But of course he would not be allowed to roam around off lead the way Buck was , who would spend hours up there on his own. We lived in a dorma bungalow and he would climb out of the window and jump over the wall into next doors garden, in the end we gave up trying to keep him in the garden. He never left the fields. To him the garden was to small. Sorry got off topic a bit.
