Hi there, nice to meet y'all! Name's Jamie :)

Found this site after browsing through petfinder.com on their husky page and decided to check it out. Lots of great info!

I got my first husky a little more than a year ago and I'm still learning, but I love him to death. I've been reading over some of the training tips and such which have been helpful!

A little about him: Adopted my baby Jake from a foster care home and he was a bit of a mess health wise (lady hadn't had him for long enough to realize), but he'll be all better in about a month! He's about 2-3 years old now - no one could give me a better estimate than that - and he's got such a wonderful loving spirit even after suffering some abuse as a stray. Don't find too many of these beauties in the south (for good reason!) but they've always been my favorite since I was young; I am so excited to finally own one :)

Hey Jaimie and Jake, welcome to the Pack. Kudos for taking Jake into your care. If you have any questions about Huskies, just ask. We have a lot of experienced owners on this site, with a wealth of helpful information. We'd all love to see some pics of Jake.

Louisiana :P I'm in the southeast area, bit north of New Orleans.

Hmm pictures, so many to pick from lol. I don't know if he's full bred or not, but I think he certainly looks like it.

During summer he liked to just lay in the grass outside for a couple of minutes.. He got hot quick so I wouldn't let him stay long

His favorite, indestructible ball (so far anyway)

Him running at the beach. Looks a little funny, but this was back when one of his back legs was still injured, so he's only running on 3 legs (it didn't slow him any!)

Enjoying some cooler weather finally :) no pretty snow here, just dead grass haha.

He's a real beauty. My boys are also both rescues with questionable backgrounds....one lived tied out to a stake and the other ended up in impound for taking the life of a cat...:o Both were scrawny and timid when they came to us, and just the opposite now. Love 'em to death, and wouldn't have it another way. Welcome to the pack.
