Hello guys - Brand new to this website so just wanted to say hello to introduce myself. My wife and I bought our first Husky pup on Friday and he's the first dog we've ever owned! We are very excited about our journey ahead with Gretzky and just know this website will become an instant favourite (already picked up lots of tips).

Gretzky is 6 weeks old. We were allowed to take him so early because his Mum was only able to feed five of the HUGE 9 pup litter she had. We met Mum and she was adorable and so gentle. Gretzky kind of chose us really!! His picture below is of him looking really proud in his new bed. The profile picture is him having a little wander.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys, sharing Gretzky's life with you all and hopefully being able to help new joiners in the future.

Cheers :)

Ouch, thats pretty young. didn't get mine until she was almost 9 weeks. The breeder shouldn't have let her go so soon, so not really your fault, you didn't know.

Welcome, your gonna need this place for sure! I only just got my first husky last month and this site and the members here have been worth their weight in gold!!!

Thank you Bingblaze'n'skyla

We were really worried taking him but the vet said as he had been hand reared since birth, it was OK. His Mum had a cesarean so has only fed 5 of the 9 pups. The others have been fed by hand.

I will certainly be posting questions as I know Husky pups have a unique personality :)

Thanks again

Welcome to the pack! There are often meets in and around Nottingham, we had one a few weeks ago actually :) When little Gretzky is old enough and has had all of his jabs you should consider coming along to one, it's a fantastic opportunity for socialisation (for your pup AND for you  ) and everyone always has a great time!

Hey Gretzky and family!! Im also in Nottingham and always happy to meet fellow husky owners! Im in Arnold but am over in Sherwood quite alot as my mum lives there and I dogwalk quite alot of other dogs down there! Anytime you fancy a meet up we can organise things for you! Im thinking of doing one over at Breck Hill park as its very well enclosed so great for a bit of husky fun! Like Nix (BingBlazeNSkylar) Said, any peoblems or questions just shout up and we'll help out! :)

Welcome, handsome little guy you got there.

Like others have said, 6 weeks is very young. Im not so worried about the feeding as I am the learning curve for him. From birth their mother teaches them how to be a dog, manners, temperment, etc. However all of this can be overcome. As soon as he has had his first shots, etc I would recommend putting him into a puppy socialization class where he can be around other dogs and learn how to play, and basically just be a dog. We are doing this for Kodi and we didnt bring him home till 8 weeks. Its just a great thing to do for your Sibe and you!

Have fun on the forums.
