Another good reason why your dog should wear tags

BingBlaze n Skyla

with your address and home number on it

i was sitting here bout an hour ago - thinking about how bored i was n thought i might go n take skyla for a walk, then i suddenly became very light headed n felt weak n dizzy

now imagine if i was outside during the time n i had fainted? not too bad if you have ur phone on you BUT what if u forgot to take ur phone with you (as i often do) or your phone had died

so not only can a tag help re-united a lost dog to its owner - it can also help YOU in an emergancy!

if your dog doesnt wear a tag - might be an idea to get some made up ;)

Good advice Nix. . .

It's LAW in the UK that your dog MUST wear a tag with at the minimum a phone contact number

Mine all have

Surname

Mobile No.

Home No.

Email

house number and Postcode.

i never thought of it till i thought about takin skyla out then felt light headed

ours tags have - our FULL address post code coventry, west mids ect (just incase we take them anywhere on hols n they get lost) 2 numbers - my mobile n our house number n also the fact they are chipped on them too - so should anything happen atleast they know where we live n have 2 different numbers to ring too :)

Ours have our house and mobile numbers on, but i refuse to put any part of our address on. If someone decides to fuss one of them and pulls the tag (easy enough to get away with) they then know where your dogs are kept. People who do events have had it happen, so its not something im willing to risk.

I got 2x tags for each collar that Loki has

They have:

Owners first names

House no and postcode

Mobile no

An on the other side I have:

the vets practice name

House no and postcode (of the practice we attend)

Their number

Least if Loki did ever go missing and they can't get hold of me for any reason they can call his vets

Nadia has tags with name, phone number and town on it - also I have it noted in Turkish that she is spayed (which she isn't yet) and microchipped as a deterrent against her being stolen. I'm diabetic and have anisocoria so I have my own medical ID tags anyway.. I think instead of relying on the dogs tags to be identified we should all carry ID anyway, especially if walking at night/in quiet areas..

My dogs are 'naked' unless we leave the house which is the ONLY time they will have their collars on.

They are microchipped but I won't leave collars on them when I'm not home, collar strangulation is a serious risk and I won't take chances after my friend came home and found her dog dead because his collar had gotten caught and he suffocated to death :(

I had never thought of it that way! Lobo wears ALL of his tags at all times. Especially since he frequently finds ways to escape from the yard. He always has his microchip tag, nametag with my address and phone number, rabies tag, and city license. We get fined here if they aren't wearing their tags at the park and get caught

impossible. Kirby and I are mad of titanium and built to last.

on a serious note. they actually sell collars with the info on it. I perfer that over tags, since my wrestles a lot and lets face it, how often do we check if the tags are still there?

yep greys fell off the other day while walking, no idea how!
