marksturney
Hi everyone! My name is Mark and whilst researching online about Huskies I came across this site. I currently do not own one of these gorgeous dogs as yet but will hope to one day. I have learned so much from you guys already but though it was time to say Hi. When the time does come for me to get one I will be looking for a rescue dog. There are so many out there that do not have homes and would really like to help a dog in need rather than pay a breeder so any advise would be greatfully received. Will look forward to chatting with you in futer discussions. Mark

Andy
Hey, Mark. . . welcome. You've started down the right road, you can NEVER do too much research and preparation before getting your first Husky. However they will always manage to throw you a curve ball We are always being surprised by the intelligent and goofy things these guys do. We love this breed to bits, but we almost always try to dissuade people from taking them on because they really are a massive challenge. YOU have to change YOUR life around the Husky. and a lot of the Huskies waiting in rescue centres are there because the owners wanted them because they are a beautiful dog, and they are. However they are not a trophy breed that is there just to look nice. They are massively intelligent and motivated when they get going. The dogs in the rescue centres are there because the owners underestimated just how challenging it is to own a Husky. Huskies rarely play by your rules. It takes a special person to get the best out of Huskies. You will find a ton of them here we're all just waiting to help and guide you through this journey. NOW GO GET YOUR FURBABY.
