Finally got some photos developed from my step dads old SLR camera Stard on slowest shutter speed and looking at th pics I need to increase it a bit so not so much light gets through. Here they are (The light and contrast has been adjusted slightly on these but if yo want originals you can have them too Need to work more on getting the focus right too quite proud of this one quite proud of these next few of marley too proud of this one of bandit again this one aint too bad of giz but needs less light and quicker shutter speed I think like this one too but need less light going through like this one think this is probs the best ne of gizmo i got Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Have seen camera in argos Im going to save for, only a cheap one but think it will do whilst im starting. WIll tak a look at te shutter speed not sure if it does have that option but maybe wrong. Thats gone right over my head OK the shutter speeds are on a dial on the top of the camera and the aperture size is also known as the F-Stop and is a ring on the lens Looks like this If you open the aperture (F-stop ring) you let more light in If you close the aperture (F-stop ring) you let less light in. see the image below F/16 = less light F/2 = more light Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had my aperture opened as much as possible (lower number) while at the camp to get as much light as possible so I could get fast shutter speeds. Depth-of-field means how deep the portion is of the images that is focused. It's the difference between this (notice the blurry background): My link And this (aperture more closed, higher number) My link But shutter speed is usually the best way to control the amount of light.
