BlueWolf Posted June 17, 2011 Report Share Posted June 17, 2011 I am sure that if you go back far enough you will find somebody, I have traced my lot back to the 1700s My mother has tracked our family back to 1500 :eek: Including stories, jobs, sometimes photos and other random things. It's amazing to see. Without any of these ~500 people she has found I wouldn't be here I'm not uploading a photo of my dad without permission, but here is a photo of my lovely granddad who sadly died in 1997. calvinandmommy Posted June 17, 2011 Report Share Posted June 17, 2011 I am sure that if you go back far enough you will find somebody, I have traced my lot back to the 1700s I know we have family that was in WWI and WWII and even the Civil War but past that I dont know anything else well except that I am of Scottish, English and German decent. He and my Granny could both trace their families back to the French Huguenots who imigrated to SA in the 1680's My wonderful father his side of the family are descended from the Dutch settlers. Lol I'm in the same boat, mine popped his clogs when I was 18 months old. He was so disliked that my mum (and they had 5 kids !!!) never even kept a photo.
