Once when I worked for a vet, a woman brought a cat in that had gotten into the dryer and tumbled long enough that he was thoroughly dead - his body temperature was too high to read on the thermometer! She wanted us to revive him, so we worked on that cat for all of an hour while the poor, distraught woman wept and berated herself.
