Poor Tux ("Ick" warning!)

Poor Tux seems to have gotten in a bit of a scuffle with young Zeke Saturday night when they were out together, and I went to change into my kennel clothes and shoes... Jazz and Angel are in or coming in season, the two strays are there, and tempers are a bit short. I cleaned it up that night, and found another (just a puncture) yesterday, so in to the vet's we went this morning! It's quite the gash (hence the "ick" warning!) but because it is a bite wound, it was left open to heal, rather than sutured - infection can drain better that way, rather than collecting inside. They sedated him and cleaned it up, reversed the sedation and sent him home within 2 hours! He's happy to be home, although he probably isn't really very thrilled to have to take the antibiotics he'll need to... :P

Yeh, i bet is does annoy him a bit, a collar may be a good idea :)

He's a pretty smart boy, and seems to have discovered that it hurts when he actually scratches it - has been scratching a bit below, instead. I'll observe a little longer, and if he bothers it, I'll get one for him...
