Congratulations03.gif What a cutie! I'm assuming the "touch of blue" is all over the brown? All puppies have a bluish cast to their eyes when they first open, and it can be hard to tell what color they will be at that point, although eyes that will be truly blue tend to be vivid blue, and brown eyes more navy at that stage. The blue cast stays with brown eyes for quite a few weeks, though, so no, they won't turn blue, although as Nix said, if there's more than a blue cast to them, there could be a chip of blue, or a larger portion of an eye could be blue. Where you see brown - it will be brown!

So I'm going to use this thread as a timeline of Dakota's life and accomplishments as well as my questions section.

We had a pretty good first night. I am wondering how much I should be feeding her. I have been feeding her about 1/2 a cup of quality dry food twice a day. Should i feed her more and/or more often?

Thanks everyone.

I would feed her 1/2 cup at least 3 times per day, 4 times would be better. At about 4 months, stay at or switch to 3 times per day. And from 8 to 10 months, make the change to twice a day. When you move to 3 times a day, you might up the amount per feeding to 3/4 cup, and when you move to feeding twice a day, up the among to 1 cup per feeding. Keep on puppy food for 12 months, then slowly transition to a good quality adult kibble. Awesome pics of a gorgeous pup.

Congrats on the baby girl, she is a cutie!! I will say this, that crate training will get a lot easier. If you stick with it, it will help a lot with potty training to. Good luck on tomorrow!!
