Snow in Lubbock!

Recommended Posts

It snowed some here today and decided to take the pups out for a bit before and after work. This is probably Bella's first time in the snow.:clap: I think she really enjoyed it. Sid LOVES the snow and can't get enough of it. Mandy is ALL business when outside so noticing or enjoying the snow is out of the question!

The first ones are from this morning.

Sid enjoying the snow and also making sure he doesn't get attacked from behind.:angry2:

These last few were from earlier this evening. I tried to uses the night mode on my camera. They didn't turn out great but will use it again to see if I can get better shots.

If there's at least two huskies sniffing, there's GOT to be treasure there!:bananalama:

Weather systems seem to be a bit confused this year. Aside from that, Great Pics Brian! It's so neat to see pics of your Huskies, especially after having met them.

Great photos! I haven't been to Lubbock in about 6-7 years. I was going to say that the husband and I would be heading through Lubbock in January as we head from Wichita Falls to Colorado Springs but we will actually be going through Amarillo.

Oh and I love the picture of dog (not sure name) staring out with his/her back to you.

Wow, Colorado Springs is a LONG way from Florida!:f1: That would be Bella sitting...watching the geese.:hehe: There's a lot down at the local park and they were loud last night. She wanted to go "check" them out.:nooo:

Thanks Rosemary! It doesn't snow very much here and it usually doesn't start until a little later in the winter.

Yeh, tell me!!! My phones in the jeep so no pictures, but we got snow on the desert - this is not FUNNY!!!! It was 28 *IN* the house and since we typically don't need it there is no heating except for the gas stove. I'm heading 80 miles up the road to see if I can find a gas heater in Alpine!!!

We didn't get as much as you did, a 1/2 inch dusting but it's way too early for this "stuff" this year!!!!!!

They do love the snow...especially Sid! Al Jones, I can't believe you got snow that far south. 80 miles is a long ways for a heater but when you need one, you need one!:f1:

US$150 later (plus gas!) small single element gas burner that works off a propane tank ( I just can't drive much of an electric heater on solar, it kkills the batteries in no time flat! ) Insállah I'll be in my own place next year and can have a wood stove in place. Stoke it up, close the dampers and let it keep everything warm til the AM.

It's holding it's own with 33 degrees but we're headed for 15 tonight! This is not funny and I am not amused!!!!

Just looked outside, brilliantly clear sky so we may hit single digits before the nights over!

Yeah, it has been cold here the last couple of days! But that is REALLY cold inside!:wow2: Hope that heater works out. It was 11* here when I woke up this morning...just not inside.

:wow2: Brrrr! Y'all down there in Texas have colder and snowier weather than we do up here! I like my house relatively cool, but turning the thermostat down to around 53 at night is plenty cold enough... Hope that you can keep it reasonably warm with your little gas heater - stay warm!

53?!! I let ours go down to 62f at night and during the day when we're not home and that's plenty cold enough!

Great pictures. I went online yesterday and bought myself a set of YakTrak grips for the bottom of my boots for when the snow comes and I can get out of the house.

YakTraks are the best! They have saved my butt on many a rough trail!

Partly, my money is really tight, so that's one way I economize - but I also like to sleep in a colder room with warm blankets, and my upstairs stays much warmer than the downstairs. I also woke up this morning too warm - had a cat tucked up on either side of me, and another near my feet! I usually have the thermostat set to around 61 or 62 when I'm home... I've adapted to it pretty well! ;)
