From British Red Cross.

The charity's recommended emergency kit bag contains:

  • A list of emergency contact numbers

  • Battery-operated torch and spare batteries (or a wind-up torch)

  • Any essential medication, some toiletries and a first aid kit

  • Three days' supply of bottled water and ready-to-eat foods that keep

  • Copies of important documents like insurance policies and birth certificates

  • Pencil, paper, a penknife and a whistle

Have you got um ??????

Living in the suburbs of London whenever it snows we have total gridlock so doubt I'd be able to go anywhere even if I wanted to except on foot. Surprised the list didn't have something about a blanket/sleeping bag. Many sleeping bags nowadays compress really small. Also it is useful to have a couple of mats as these are really useful to put under car tires to aid traction on ice, but wouldn't expect to see this on a list.
