Darc-Brittany
Glad that they mentioned that the doggies were safe, I'm sure they tried their best to get everyone out of the way. Holy, what a weird accident. I imagine those tourists that survived won't want to go on a dog tour again, shame.
lovemysiberian
That's so tragic
Bellatrix
what a horrific thing to happen. I am glad that the dogs are safe, but its so tragic to lose a life at any age. At least they were having fun when everything happened.
Removed #1
70 years old...wow...what a way to go. I feel sorry for his loved ones, and I'm glad that it looks like everyone else will be okay. We have snowmobile crossings here...not sleddog crossings... ::adds to list of things to eventually torment her city for::
Elyse
That's horrible! Glad to hear something good came out of it though...that the dogs were okay. But did they 'escape' like the article said, or did they simply 'escape from injury'?
Jessabellla
The dogs escaped from injury however us tourists on that sleigh did not and I think after bein through such a traumatic experience it's outrageous to say we were having fun when it happened a man lost his life..and we spent our holiday in hospital. It's tragic that a man lost his life and yet everyone is concerned that the dogs are ok.
Mollys_mum
Many thanks for posting, Jessabella. I'm sure nobody on here was trying to 'make light of the situation', rather, we all have a deep respect for all those involved in sledding, whether or not we actually participate for real. I posted this so that people involved with getting into sledding in the near future are aware of the potential risks just so that some sense of awareness can be developed in situations/environment where we didn't think there was a risk before. Hopefully it might save lives in the future. As for the dogs, well, it is a Husky forum, and we love our dogs, and by 'our', I mean all, whether or not they belong to us per se. Ravenwolf
Is it bad that my first thought was "at least the dogs are okay!"
