RoseWillow&Dexter
Dexter has cut his foot and has a bandage on it at the moment. Anyone have any ideas on tips to stop him chewing it off? We got up this morning and he had made his way through about half of it, so we put more tape on it, but whenever he gets a chance he starts chewing at it grrr
MollynDiesel
Would a head cone help? I think you can buy them from big pet shops

Tams Teeko and Keeta
Buster collar (cone)...sock may help...depends on the dog. Good luck! :-)
Bec
A muzzle more comfortable for the dog than a cone and safer too, they won't be able to get a muzzle off either

But make sure you get the baskerville not a fabric muzzle so he can still drink. :-D

HuskyMom09
I had to muzzle our Diamond while her feet healed, she could wiggle her feet up into the collar and chew off the bandages. She didn't seem to mind and we gave her plenty of time out of the muzzle while we could watch her.
lovemysiberian
Agree with the other suggestions and wanted to add on to it.. maybe some Bitter Apple spray would also deter him from chewing it.
sutsibe
Haven't had much luck with Bitter Apple - mine haven't ever seemed to mind the taste much. I've used Tabasco sauce with better results - just wear plastic gloves if you put it on or wash your hands carefully. Really smarts if you rub your eyes injudiciously! Just don't accidently use hot sauce, like I did... I'm not a fan of anything like hot sauce or Tabasco sauce, so don't really know the difference.. so I used some hot sauce on the corner of my coffee table because I noticed evidence of a little gnawing there... well, I must have flavored it and made it really tasty because she really went at it after that!
