Merlin the wizard
Any tips on how to get him to either like it or get used to it? The bigger he is getting the harder it is to keep him still...

sutsibe
Place him in the tub while it's empty, and give him a few pieces of something really yummy - or play for just a few minutes with a toy he really loves! Make it fun, and not scary, but keep things pretty low key - you don't want him to get excited and slip, scaring himself. Start out with him in it for just a few seconds at first, and take him out before he can jump out - the gradually get him to stay in for a bit longer, and then a little bit longer... Once he's more comfortable with the idea of the tub itself, add a little bit of water, and see if you can get him to play in it. Always stay as calm and low key as you can, be nice but firm - try to not allow him to jump out, but see if you can persuade him that not only is being in the tub NOT a bad thing, it can be quite good! If he truly needs a bath (for example, if he's rolled in something which smells really awful), try bathing him in the kitchen sink 0r a laundry sink, with someone else to help hold him in it - once again, very quietly and calmly. If you get excited and upset, HE will get excited and upset; if you're calm, it may take a little while, but he's much more likely to become calm... Smokey
hmm...i use a kiddie pool and bathe my babes outside...sometimes holding him gently by the scruff will keep him from wiggling around too much. if he begins to shake, just grab his scruff and he will stop. i learned that here best
persephona
You can also leave treats in the bath tub at random times. If he *happens* to find food in the bathtub, he will see it as a good place to be in general.
