Sibemum
Yesterday my lovely OH took me to Wallington Hall (the first 'date' we had in the north east') and asked me to marry him. It was oh so lovely and I had just said yes when Teeko the moment killer decided to try and escape into a farmers field by diving through the gate! Haha! We'd been talking about it for a while and I actually picked the ring but that was ages ago so yesterday was still an amzing surprise. Been holding off telling you all coz I haven't told my closest friends yet! Ha! The bugger isn't answering her phone. But i'm excited so .... Sod it.... I'm getting married! Woooooooooooooo! Oh Wow!!!
Sarah
My phone camera is being rubbish so i've nicked a pic from the jewellers website. The stone is aquamarine (my birthstone) and the little diamonds down the side are dead sparkly. awwwww hun thats gorgeous hun! Tams Teeko and Keeta
awwwww hun thats gorgeous hun! Thanks. I do love it. Though keep being slightly freaked out by wearing something on my clumsy oaf hands that cost more than a tenner haha!
Ravenwolf
We managed to do our wedding with 116 guests for less than 7,000$, and my dress was 1,600$ of that (I wanted to do cheaper and even looked at renting but alas, I fell in love with an Ian Stuart...). We had a gorgeous venue (we lucked in to getting it the opening year, now there's like a 2 year wait get it! ) and everything was exactly as I envisioned it. The trick is just to cut costs where and when you can - for example, the cake wasn't a big deal to me so we just ordered 3 simple white cakes decorated with ivy from a grocery store bakery and put them on a pretty tiered stand. 60$ instead of 300-500$ (and we served it ourselves so most of it actually got eaten!). Making your own favours instead of pre-purchasing. 2-dollar bar. And so on. I'm the Stinge-master so if you need any penny-pinching ideas you know where to find me! I can see a few PM's flying about the all you knowledgable folk in the coming months haha. I'm fortunate in that I have a creative family! Cake will be made. All stationary will be made. My sisters mother in law is skilled in flower arranging. So there's lots of places to keep costs down. I also don't want a sit down meal...so that's going to save a chunk as well. Planning to go for October..also cuts costs. I think the only thing that i'll probably really splash out on is venue. At the minute I really like the look of a place near us called Rushpool and it looks like a fairytale castle! Gonna hunt it down at the weekend.
