skin issues!! help!!!

There are several things that commonly cause skin problems in Siberians... The most common, in my experience, would be ZRD (Zinc Responsive Dermatitis) and food allergies/intollerances causing skin problems (corn, wheat, and soy often don't agree with Siberian systems). Another thing that can fairly easily cause a skin problem would be not getting all the shampoo rinsed properly after a bath...

Thats what I have been told over and ovr it was the Zinc thing. We ahve given her zinc supplements but it didnt help. They are these nasty round spots that turn her skin black and it gets gooey and crusty around the edges. it is very gross and looks itchy and painful. This has been happening for over a year now and weve tried everything...

I don't know how high the dose of zinc you've been giving is, but it's possible that it simply isn't high enough... http://www.meetup.com/shaaz-sibes/pages/Canine_Zinc_Responsive_Dermatosis_(ZRD). There's a link to a sledding kennel that has a zinc supplement that the author of the post had success with that might be worth checking into... You could also try supplementing with kelp or fish oil, for a little extra zinc.

Lola seems to be having some skin problems and I'm wondering if this is what they called ZRD? She also seems to have balding patches located on each side of her forelegs. Is it related to her blowing coat? Cause little tufts of fur have been coming off her for a few weeks now. Here are some pictures:
