elenamarie
Lance, Martin and Rohn will be arriving in Nome within the next few hours. Lance 22 Martin 19 Rohn 18 Karen 47 Hank 48 The regulars on the Iditarod Forum were tracking Karen last night when her GPS position suggested that she was having serious trouble on the ice of Norton Sound. A couple of mushers have lost the trail on the Sound and have spent hours wandering the ice, and some were concerned that Karen's team lost the trail as well. Turns out her GPS unit somehow fell off or out of the sled and was left on the ice. I sure was relieved to hear that!
elenamarie
Anyone who wants to see the Busers and Lance come into Nome can go to http://www.discoverak.com/nome_webcam.htm The camera takes still images every 30 seconds but it's better than nothing. elenamarie
Amazing video of the conditions on Norton Sound yesterday. This is some of what Karen Ramstead and the PCTs were dealing with as they crossed the ice. The ground blizzards aren't on the video but the wind can be heard. This team isn't Karen's. Austinville
Update from Karen............ Roscoe was the last dog dropped and : "Roscoe is fine. Just tired and a bit sore. I believe he will go to Richard in Nome and not the prison, but I might be wrong. See will be heading to Nome without the team this morning. She has had a sore shoulder for the last while and wasn't able to work out of it yesterday. Q is a question mark too - same issue- shoulder. Will get a vet to recheck him in a bit." She is in Koyuk with 13 dogs.
