Ravenwolf
I found this random question on Yahoo Answers and was not the least bit horrified by some of the responses. The gleeful stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me, and their joyful sharing of such mind-numbing intellectual retardation is staggering. For your amusement: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070402091224AAEC0dY Or even this random site that lists huskies as "guard dogs." http://www.gopetsamerica.com/dogs/guard-dogs.aspx
mydiamond
I guess the asker is only giving high ratings to answers that agrees with him.. Not the ones that are actually true. Hence the stupid comment as "best reply"

Elyse
LOL - sorry, but that bit of stupidity is just funny! On another note, though, I go on Yahoo Answers all the time to help with homework problems. Most of the time the answers there actually help me, but anything other then academic matters and Y Answers is a whole different place. Removed #5
I find Yahoo answers like a lot of the rest of the web, it's got some good stuff *if* you're willing to wade through the trash to find it.
Povodny
Wow, just read through all the responses and the person asking the question chose the only negative response which just happened to agree with their uninformed thinking

SA DA KA
It was good to find info that the Siberian is a good dog to keep with children. Husky Lovers in Vermont Siberian Huskies And Kids Filed under Dogs 0.5 of 5 Paws Rating Tags: Siberian Husky, Family Breeds Siberian huskies are loving dogs that crave companionship, and as such, tend to make very good dogs to keep with children. Siberian Huskies are known for their sweet, good nature. They are known to be friendly and energetic, playful, and eager to have fun-characteristics that pair well with the high energy of children. Siberian Huskies are pack dogs that are used to living in a family community; this translates well into the household, where the dog will take to the humans in its life as its equal pack members. The dog will enjoy being a part of the family and will enjoy the good-natured play of children. As a pack dog, a Siberian Husky might display concern for their fellow pack-mates and offer some guardianship, but in whole, Siberians are no guard dogs and cannot be relied upon as protectors of anything or anyone. The Siberian temperament is known to be highly predictable-which also makes them a good dog to have with children, as there is little worry that the dog will in some way quickly and unpredictably 'change' in nature. Siberian Huskies are also very good with children that do not reside in the household. Siberian Huskies are not good watch-dogs because they are not territorial or protective in nature. With children, however, this is a positive, because it means that they will be ready to accept any new playmate a child brings home, and they will not be quick to defend a home or yard from unexpected visitors. Siberian Huskies love activity, so the rough and tumble play of kids is welcomed, rather than disdained by Siberians. In actuality, Siberian Huskies have a strong need for play and exercise to stay happy and healthy; for adults, children are ideally suited to this task. Teach Kids The Husky Limits While it is true that huskies thrive with children, it is very important for children to understand the characteristics of their pet. Siberian Huskies have an affinity for running and will seize any opportunity to do so. The job of adults is to teach children to be careful of escaping dogs when opening and closing doors, and to play outside with the dog only when the dog is confined or controlled. For kids and Siberian Huskies to play freely outside, an impenetrably fenced area must be provided, or the dog must be on a leash at all times. Also, adults must be sure that the child in charge is strong enough to hold and control an eager Siberian husky. Huskies can take off in seconds and run for hours, and can never be trusted not to when the chance presents. These limits aside, the Siberian Husky is a valuable family member for those who feel they can adequately contain the Siberian exuberance, and many a child has been raised with a love and appreciation of this notable breed.
