If hitting it doesn't work, you need a bigger hammer. Or threaten it with something it really won't like - a handful of gravel maybe? Can't do that much harm if it is knackered already. *NOTE* I am NOT a washing machine engineer!

Washing Machines.....bain of my life

we were told its only the belt......erm no it cost a new washer

now the tumble is coming out in sympathy and squeaking more than a trapped mouse:eek:

i swear its going to blow up

and that gets me onto kettles.......cant count how many i've had!

time to shut the 'cafe' i think

Probably irrelevant if you're getting a repair man round but have you checked the filter and inlet hose for any blockages? Used to have a washer/dryer that went into meltdown if there was a button or sock inside the filter. It had lots of problems and I learnt the hard way that washer/dryers are nothing but trouble! Lol.
