sharloid
I think Broder may be too fat but he also seems a different shape to most huskies we see. He's got a really wide rib cage! Anyone who's seem him recently - what do you think? We feed him raw and less than the recommended amount - 400g a day. He's 7 and a half months and weighs 18kg. I've never really thought about it before but comparing him to the huskies at Canine Capers he seems a really odd shape! Elyse
Can you feel his ribs or are they non-existent?

Hyshqa
I've seen him twice now and he just seems very stocky to me, not fat at all Huskies come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, Broder is just a big bigger built than the typical racy shape. Removed #5
This is a first for me but I'd be inclined to say that he's out the racing stock ... he definitely does *NOT* look fat, especially when you look at him from the top, but the set and size of his back legs and the depth of his chest make me think he'd be a real good running dog. sharloid
...make me think he'd be a real good running dog. Well maybe when he grows up and stops getting over excited if we ever move faster than a swift walk
ICE & SHADOW
he just looks broad, kind of the same build as Shadow

Elyse
He doesn't look fat to me. Suka, my husky, is broad chested too...and I've had people say that he's from racing lines. (Sorry for the HUGE picture!)

sutsibe
He's gorgeous - he looks like some of the dual-purpose dogs here in the US that can compete well in both shows and in racing...
frankmayfield
He is not fat at all. He looks well-built. He looks perfect. He reminds me of my last pup.

persephona
He certainly doesn't look fat to me! I think "fat" wouldn't really first come to mind when looking at Broder, not at all.
lovemysiberian
He looks fantastic - definetly doesn't look overweight to me! My Taz had a very similar shape, weighed between 60-65 lbs.
Lightsiber
I'm amazed you have asked. He looks in great shape to me.
Andy
No he's not fat. you can see he has a "waistline" in both Photos. From the side the chest bulges out and then it curves inward towards the back legs. If he were fat there would just be a chest which continues in an outward curve to the belly. and the second photo you can see the width of the chest and then the waistline going in then out again to the hips. He's perfect. don't worry.
davidjk
huskies come in different shapes and sizes. the two most obvious differences i see are more stockier built with large rib cage. the second type is very slight (like a runners physique) during the summer my micha(the slight one) looks underweight even though she is at the top weight for a female and the right height. During the winter she looks fantastic. if you are worried go check with your vet. to be honest he seems like he is a nice size and weight. balonsmom
He has a good waist, he would not be considered fat! And he's really gorgeous!
HuskyMom09
Perfectly honest he looks like he is in excellent shape! There is a nice waist line as well as a tuck up behind his rib cage indicating a flat fit belly (vs no tuck up or bulge indicating fatty).
