Cherrie-Nanook-Indy
We went by the day we picked him minus his rough age from the vet. Eg we picked Indy up on 2nd April and he was approx 10 months so his birthday for us is 2nd June Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
Removed #3
we had to roughly guess chaos's birthday as he was in a house that was raided by the police him and his brother were tied up in the back yard
JBnab
With our dog Kate, the shelter guessed that she was 4 when we got her. We always went by that along with the day that we got her.
Hyshqa
I was lucky enough to be able to trace right back to Freya's breeder so I know her exact birthday My housemate has a rescued jack russel from Dogs Trust that she adopted at approximately 6 months old in August 2010 - she estimated her birthday as sometime in February and just picked a random date in that month
BlueWolf
I guess, as long as the dog isn't younger than a year, you would just celebrate the day you got him/her Our new cat we adopted from the shelter is guessed to be around 16 years old. We will now celebrate her birthday on the day we got her, so she turned 16 last week
BingBlaze n Skyla
I use the day we got him instead :-) Sent from my ST18i using Forum Runner
Michelle Sopi
We were lucky enough to know who was born first and got the 'twins' papers with them so know their exact birthday and who was born first too!
Emma
Battersea said Bear was around 12 weeks on the 7th October. So I took it back on the calendar that she was born around the 7th July. She'll turn a year next Saturday, it's gone soooo fast! Ice's last owner Knew when he was born, so no guess work required!
Siberian Shadow
Max had all his papers and full details handed to me by the previous owner. Blue's previous owners gave his dob when they handed him into SHWA and Hachi has his year on his microchip, just goiing to ring his old vets to see if they have the date and month,if not,I'll guess-timate!!lol
Removed #2
We know Jessy's birthday, and Jack and Andy were both said to be around 5 when we brought them home. So their birthdays are their adoption dates, and we "ish" their age...6ish, and this year they'll be 7ish! Jessy will be 3 in September! zeus2011
We are still trying to figure it out. We got him last August and they told us he was about a year but he has grown so much we think they must have been wrong. We are still trying to guess somewhat correctly
aronoiiel
Before I found out Diesel's I was going off the day I took him home.
HuskyMom09
I use their rescue date as their birthday. That is the day they started their new life with me, before that doesn't matter
AttilaVikingsDemon
With our Red Heeler Sammy, we use his adoption date in October as his Birthday, because we adopted him right before he was going to be pts, so in effect, since he was given a new chance at life, it was a beginning of a new life for him, hence his new Birthday. They got him from a cornfield and they guessed his age at the time to be anywhere from 3-7 years old, and we've had him 6 years now going on 7. Elyse
I found out my rescue boy's birthday by his microchip. It was recorded on there. But, before we found out his birthday, we just took his 'adoption day' as his birthday.
