Easy walk harness

Recommended Posts

Flexis should never be used in my opinion. They are not made for dogs that pull, let alone bolt, and I have seen countless dogs break them and then bolt into traffic. As far as I have seen the retractable leashes give them a running start before clothes lining them with the possibility of neck injuries, back injuries, or leg injuries. Even with regular harnesses, they encourage the dogs to pull, put the dogs into a very rude body position to greet other dogs, and offer no control on the owner's end. Because they often have tension on them, they can lead to leash aggression.

We took out all retractable leashes from our household. I can't see the benefits of them outweighing the dangers to our dogs, ourselves, or the general public being worth it.

Even the Flexi website understands the dangers of their own product these are some pictures from their website.

I only use a flexi on my girl she's good n rarely pulls but they should ideally be used with a harness if people do use them

What people need 2 know with flexi's is how 2 use them correctly , my girl isn't allowed 2 great other dogs on a flexi , n she certainly isn't allowed 2 go running up 2 people either , I call her back so the lead shortens n I lock it till we've gone past , its just having common sense n being responsible if u do use them , it's when idiots use them n don't give a stuff u get problems

Ive always used a flexi with my boy for field walking etc so he can explore more... if we see people or other dogs i get him closer to me and have him on a shorter lead until we have past.... I personally think its great for them to be able to explore more at times

I've heard too many stories of the flexis breaking, so I've never gotten one.

If I would think Suka wants to explore more (very rarely, because we don't walk in farmers' fields or in fields in general...) I would bring along his spare leash and attach it to his police leash I got from Indi-Dog. More secure and safe, IMO, than a flexi.

Thats fair enough each to their own :) The only thing that annoys me about my police lead (which i do sometimes use over the flexi at times) is when he stops it constantly ends up under his legs etc etc

Bings does that lol luckily he knows 2 lift his paw up so he untangles himself
