Roxannecauchi
Hi I'm getting a easy walk harness for my Siberian husky she is 1 year and 3 months but I'm not sure what sized to get her, her girth is 25 inches.

Elyse
Usually on their website they have measuring instructions, measure exactly how THEY say because each company is different the way they take and interpret the measurements.
Jenn&Ziggy
I'm pretty sure that Ziggy's girth is 24 inches or so and we got him a large and it fits well; it's not perfect, but I'm under the impression that no harness really fits amazingly to where it doesn't move at least a little bit. jmscott
Just remember that for any walking harness you want to keep a short leash and not use retractable leashes.
megroy
My huskies have chewed through two harnesses so far (while playing of course) decided just to stick with flat collars. Do you have this issue as well?
Roxannecauchi
Thank you everyone for answering, it is really hard to take panda for a walk she pulls so much, a I already ordered her one last night.

You mean for any non pull harness lol ur supposed 2 use flexi's with harnesses to reduce neck damage if you have a bolter lol Sent from my ST18i using Forum Runner
jmscott
Flexis should never be used in my opinion. They are not made for dogs that pull, let alone bolt, and I have seen countless dogs break them and then bolt into traffic. As far as I have seen the retractable leashes give them a running start before clothes lining them with the possibility of neck injuries, back injuries, or leg injuries. Even with regular harnesses, they encourage the dogs to pull, put the dogs into a very rude body position to greet other dogs, and offer no control on the owner's end. Because they often have tension on them, they can lead to leash aggression. We took out all retractable leashes from our household. I can't see the benefits of them outweighing the dangers to our dogs, ourselves, or the general public being worth it. Even the Flexi website understands the dangers of their own product these are some pictures from their website. Stormy
Ive always used a flexi with my boy for field walking etc so he can explore more... if we see people or other dogs i get him closer to me and have him on a shorter lead until we have past.... I personally think its great for them to be able to explore more at times
Elyse
I've heard too many stories of the flexis breaking, so I've never gotten one. If I would think Suka wants to explore more (very rarely, because we don't walk in farmers' fields or in fields in general...) I would bring along his spare leash and attach it to his police leash I got from Indi-Dog. More secure and safe, IMO, than a flexi.
Stormy
Thats fair enough each to their own The only thing that annoys me about my police lead (which i do sometimes use over the flexi at times) is when he stops it constantly ends up under his legs etc etc
