Mazz
Heard on the news this morning that farmers in the midwest US, may cut their losses and take to cutting the 2012 corn crop off at the roots and use the stalks for cattle feed. The drought here in Iowa, has been horendous for farmers. Corn ears have not developed, are small, and the growing cycle has hit a point of no return. Even if rain were to come now, it's too late to help the corn further develop. Looks like prices for certain corn-based products will go through the roof. That includes many dog foods that are marketed. Even though you may avoid buying foods with corn, as I do, the lack of corn could ultimately impact the price of even grain-free foods. Removed #5
While I'm sorry to hear about your lack of rain, we've gotten more, earlier in the year than we normally do. 'course what we've gotten wouldn't help you all much, but it's a blessing for us - my tanks are full!
Povodny
It's just been on the news here we will be facing a price hike on foods because we've had so much flooding. Followed by a further hike due to the drought in the U.S. looks like we're tween a rock an the proverbial :$ lol
