Darc-Brittany
I'm not sure if anyone else keeps a log of how much they work their dogs, but I thought it would be interesting to start a thread where you could log that kind of data. I keep track of most of the dogs pawtrek journeys in a little book that I call the Musher's Log. I took some scans of the log but it didn't turn out too well ;_; so I'll just log the data into this thread. Right now I don't have a speedometer to keep track of my data while on the sled I figure it would cost me a decent amount to get a gps speedometer so no sledding data for a while. Coloring is the same as in the log :3 Pawtrek Scooter November 16th, 2011 - Windy 14.2ºC 2.583 Miles 23 Minutes 54 Seconds Max Speed 14.6 Mi/h Avs Speed 6.4 Mi/h November 17th, 2011 9.8ºC 3.414 Miles 29 Minutes 4 Seconds Max Speed 13.9 Mi/h Avs Speed 7.0 Mi/h November 18th, 2011 - Windy 5.5ºC 1.977 Miles 14 Minutes 24 Seconds Max Speed 17.6 Mi/h Avs Speed 8.2 Mi/h *Speedometer stopped working on way home December 3rd, 2011 1.9ºC 6.66 Kilometres 37 Minutes 49 Seconds Max Speed 25.19 Km/h Avs Speed 10.58 Km/h *New Speedometer - Took a while to get, bought online. Now that it's summer it's way too warm for them to run I can't wait til the fall when I can start running them again. According to the speedometer this is what their current all-together stats are: Total ODO 76 Total Time 6 Hours 44 Minutes Not too shabby, not as much as I would have liked but that doesn't count the sledding, runs they were on that I didn't record, and the runs on my first speedometer. It's interesting to see how the temperature and how frequently they run affects their speed/time. My first speedometer was a piece of junk, got a little muddy and it stopped working. The speedometer was a 21 function wired Bell computer bought through Wal-mart, if you plan on buying one, stay clear of Bell's. It also read in miles which does me no good since I'm Canadian and use to kilometres. Now I have a Sigma BC 1609 wired computer and it's AMAZING! I've had this thing through snow, mud, rain and it works like a charm! No worries about it dying on me. Got the computer through ebay for a really good price $40CAD and that's with shipping, I liked it so much I got one for my bike :3 So anyone else log their runs? I stole the idea from professional mushers http://www.youtube.com/user/MushingMonsters Videos of some of the runs can be found here <3 Edited July 31, 2012 by Darc-Brittany

HuskyMom09
Very cool! I'm just starting sledding so I think this would be a good idea for me to track our progress
Rosemary
Great thread - we don't work our huskies on a scooter, as it doesn't get cold enough here, but will be interesting to see your progress
