Hi after abit advice our sibe we think has come into heat. She is spotting a little bit and she is swollen down there

She is exceptionally grumpy compared to normal i had her on a walk this morning and she was snapping at any dog that came within a foot of her is this normal. She is usually dead well behaved thought she had been abducted over night

Is there any advice peeps can give us she is our first sibe and i am just wondering do we do anything different??

sounds like a season

keep her away from intact males and get ready for a grumpy dog

she may howl and call to other dogs which can be very loud...

she may go off her food

just keep mopping the blood up and if she needs help to be clean then use a flannel to clean her bits x

what about neutered males

just we have her with our other sibe he is 11months and as i said has had the snip

we walk her late at night and early morning anyhow thanks to the weather think we will continue this next 3-4 weeks

They could still mate n could hurt each other so I'd be careful around neutered males too always have her supervised now with other dogs even if they are neutered
