Michelle Melsom Posted August 26, 2012 Report Share Posted August 26, 2012 I know there's a law in Canada where you are not allowed to advertise or sell a dog as purebred unless it is registered and when its registered it has a pedigree because the records of its ancestry are kept where as if there is no registration there is no pedigree because nobody kept track so you wouldn't know if its purebred..If that makes sense? Just looking through the local newspaper you can find plenty of "purebreaded" puppies. (yes, the misspelling is on purpose.) My favorite local advertisement is for purebred Snoodles. There are many rare dogs that breeders will breed back to pure, but unregistered, dogs that remain with the tribe or culture from which they descend.
