Where were you eleven years ago today? Do you remember the events of that day? Peace to the families who lost loved ones that day. Peace to those who lost dear and close friends that day. Peace to all. May the events of September 11, 2001, never be repeated.

just gotten to school. a mom ran into the front office (i was late that morning) and said a plane had just hit the first tower. we thought it was an accident. then the second was hit. i will never forget that day or the feelings i felt. America was changed forever.

I was in school, grade 5 I believe. We heard on the announcements that the first tower was hit, and then another announcement told us about the 2nd.

The teachers said we could all go home for the day if we wanted - they seemed pretty shocked.

I didn't understand the scope of the damage at the time, being only in grade 5 and not quite 'in tune' with the 'big world' yet...but now I know.

I was driving truck and had been in and out - my first thought was that NPR was doing a modern day "War of the worlds" and eventually realized that this was not a story or play, it was real.

To this day, I cannot fathom how any religious sect can justify murder on this scale - or any scale, for that matter. It goes beyond all reason!

I remember clearly I was watching the first tower with smoke around it on the news everyone saying it was an accident and as I listened to the reporter while watching the live feed another plane hit the tower. . the reporter didn't even know. . we all saw it before she realized it. . and then I went to school. . .only to hear when I got there about the two other planes. . .school went on as normal but in my AP History class my teacher's words echoed. . "Remember this day. . make sure you commit it all to memory . . this is an instrumental event in your lives" it's pretty sad that most history is made of such horrendous tragedies. To those I know and those I don't that would personally affected by this you are still in my thoughts and I hope you have found some small measure of peace since then.
