robke
As from next year there will be a new law in The Netherlands.... All dogs must be chipped within 7 weeks from birth... This to stop puppy farms, neglect etc...
Paranormal Wolf
I have mixed feelings on microchips. I see the positive, it allows owners to find their pet if lost and what have you. But there is a downside to microchips, not so much with animals but the implication of what else they could be used for with humans ... Rosemary
Let's hope this works - if it stops puppy farms there, maybe the rest of the world will also take note.
robke
yes that I hope as well at least the controlling office will see who is breeding and how many dogs are registered etc...so that can only be a good thing... davidjk
the best option in my opinion is to severely punish the puppy farmers. but then if the cost of living was more affordable people would be be doing this in the first place
Dunc
I hate nanny states that feel the need to enforce this type of thing responsable owners do it anyway and those that dont still wont
robke
I hate nanny states as well but if this stops puppy farms and neglect and even people tying their dog to a tree because they do not want to pay for holiday shelter etc..it is a good thing IMO
Elyse
That's good...hopefully it'll stop all the neglect like they think it will. I wonder how they'll enforce, it, though...especially with chipping puppies.
