Val (Zebedee)
Parts of the UK have seen a month's worth of rain fall in just 24 hours (2.8"), causing major flooding. You can keep up with the latest info here: http://news.uk.msn.com/interactive/flood-alerts/ For those affected, please stay safe
Stormy
It hasnt stopped raining here since yesterday morning! Will be interesting to see if we do flood as apparently we are not at risk from the canal which is only a few meters away from my house so we shall see we are higher up than it though so it would probably take alot for it to get this high! So far the canal hasnt over flowed and neither has the river as far as i can see. We are on flood alert currently
Stranger
you know its strange, with all the years we have had of experience, we never seem to have taken any preventative measures.... we had floods a couple of months ago, has anything been done to reduce the damage for future occassion like this? Stormy
We have roads to surrounding villages shut off now the a1 not far from us is flooded also. Luckily the big main roads are fine though and seems to be ok where i actually live.. the canal is almost full now though!
davidjk
we are very lucky exactly where we live, parts of byfleet (2 miles away) and chertsey (3 miles away) are natural flood plains so if the rivers break their banks it does it in those locations. i do feel sorry for anyone who lives in flood areas. be safe
Val (Zebedee)
We travelled to Ferrybridge this morning, the A1(M) was shut for over 21 miles due to flooding, northbound. Friends of ours in Warrington moved their car in time or it would have been stuck when their road flooded. I believe the end is in site from tomorrow but how much more damage will be caused? BlueWolf
The entire area outside school has been flooded too this morning from the rain all night  I looked more like a boot than a car when I drove to the parkinglot. People on the sidewalks weren't too happy with me, lol.
