The loops of the lead are round my right wrist. I do the same even when I use the walking belt I have the leads loosely in my left hand. Most of the time. I feel i have better control this way and if needed (e.g. a puyschair/young excitable children who tend to scare him) come past, i am able to move him to my right and keep him calm.
