Elyse
wtf? Why didn't the humane society check for any microchips? That's, like, standard procedure. Stupid people.
LittleLuka
i can't believe they didn't check for a microchip. what's the point in having one if shelters aren't going to check for it!?
LuvMyKai
Checking for a microchip was meant to be the first thing they do!!! But atleast they are reunited now
raindog
It doesn't surprise me that she recognised her original owner after five years. Sibes have an awesome memory. When we bred our first litter some 15 years ago, we sold two sisters to a very experienced owner who lived near us. We saw the girls regularly for the first year or so and then the owners moved away and we just communicated through Christmas cards and the odd phone call. Then, when the girls were 10 years old, the owner was visiting family in our area and decided on the spur of the moment to drop in and say hello. We live at the bottom of a cul-de-sac just off the main road and as he opened the car door to grab the girls' leads, they bolted past him, hurtled down the cul-de-sac and waited (noisily) outside our front gate. Terry and I opened the door to see what the fuss was all about and was promptly mugged by Star and Tallulah and covered in sloppy husky kisses. After 10 years, they still knew the way to our house and still recognised us. Mick
