Hi! :)

My name is Brittany and I am new to this forum. Actually I'm new to forums in general. >_<

I have a new puppy Siberian named Zoey. She's not my first husky, but she is the first husky I have had this young.

Here's a little bit about Zoey.

I got her at 6 weeks and have had her for almost 3 weeks. She's a handful but she's a sweetheart.

The first week we had her she was always leaking urine. My boyfriend and I thought it was just a control problem since she is a young pup. Then she started squatting a lot as if she had a UTI. We took her to the vet and we got a urinalysis done and everything came back fine.

After going back and forth to the vet for the 3 weeks we've had her, we have now found out that she might have an Ectopic Ureter. We had an ultrasound done to see if we can find out for sure, but the doctor was unable to say for sure she has an EU, but they did say her left ureter is abnormal. We were told to get a CT scan done, but that is too expensive at the moment.

She's still a little cutie pie. No matter what. :)

Sounds very much like my Aurora. I got her at 4 weeks and have had her for about a month. She was doing the same thing tricking urine and the squatting a lot without peeing. I thought she had a UTI as well but vet said no. He did however notice that she had crystals in her urine. He gave her a antibiotic shot and a med to change her ph. Worked like a charm. She is back to her normal silly self. Might be something you want to ask your vet about. The meds are not very expensive and they helped Aurora a great deal.

Welcome fellow Texan. She is very cute.

Howdy, and welcome to the forum from the Big Bend Area of Texas - I'm just down I-10 from you a bit ( over 400 miles, if you call that "a bit").

I sure wish my finances could handle it, cause with all the Texans we're getting on line now a "Lone Star Husky Camp" would be fantastic!!!

400 miles? One of your closest neighbours then LOL.

Welcome to husky owners.

Hello there and welcome, looks like she has a wooly coat. Such a cutie! Hope her health issues get sorted soon. Since she was taken from here mom and litter at 4 weeks it would be a good idea to look into bite inhibition and how to teach it since its her mom and siblings that usually do the job but you'll have to now. Hope you make yourself right at home here on the forum!
