Lobo&kiar
I have a male and female husky my male is 4 1/2 months old and my female is 13 months old my male is just as big as my female and a lot heavier my female is soooo skinny and fragile And my boy is sooo big and strong. Wanted to know if all females are a lot skinner than males. I guess once he's one year old he would be twice her size...
RedJasper
My male (Rusty) 4 years old is smaller then my female (Rori) 10 months. Rusty is Rori's father and her mother was Rusty's size. Vader is twice the size of both of them. It is possible that he could be a mix of German Sheppard (so I have been told). I think like humans they are all different. ponder85
My seven month old female is the height of my four yr old male. My male is short for the breed (we think). He is much thicker than her.
HuskyMom09
Unless they came from the same lines there really is not comparison. Each line develops so much differently. My 6.5mo old baby girls are as big as my 2 year old male Seal and just about as big as my 6 year old female Juneau.
Lobo&kiar
Yes they are from different lines. My main concern is that my girl seams to skinny I was thinking about getting her spayed to see if she gets some weight
Elyse
If you post up a picture of her (a side shot and a 'bird's eye view' shot, preferably) we could tell you if she's too thin or not.
HuskyMom09
Thin could just be in her genetics, without seeing her parents even grandparents it's hard to say. There is a big difference between dogs of racing lineage vs show lineage. Like SolitaryHowl says a pic of her from different angles could help us see more if she is a concerning weight or if it's just how she's built. My only other question would be has she been wormed regularly?
Lobo&kiar
Yes I've taken her to the vet just for that reason cause I see her too skinny and they have wormed her and they tell me she is very healthy just her build but tomorrow morning I'm going to take some nice photos of both of them and post them here in this thread. HuskyMom09
If they just used Strongid once that is not a worming round, it has to be repeated in 14 days or it does not kill the eggs and the dog won't be parasite free. I don't use Strongid I've never had good luck getting the dogs parasite free with it because it's always something comes up and I miss the 14 day repeat dose....I do fenbendazole 5 day treatment annually. Dunc
I think its the same in the human race My male is a lot taller than my bitch but there both around the same weight
Lobo&kiar
Here is a photo of them not good photos but you can see the difference
HuskyMom09
I'd definitely say it's just her build. She's not much in the amount of bone department so I wouldn't expect her to be heavy in build.
Lobo&kiar
Male is 4 months female 1 yr
Lobo&kiar
Would spaying here make her gain some weight? It's that she looks like I neglect her and I really love them both a lot make is good looking but female is super smart
HuskyMom09
I'd suggest spaying her just in the sense of she isn't a breeding candidate. She might put on a couple lbs but structurally she's not built to be stocky.
Lobo&kiar
Yes I love her and she is super smart but I won't breed her her genetics doesn't say Wow!! when you look at her.

Elyse
Yeah, like already said, it seems like its just her build. I've heard when they come from racing lines, especially, they are very lanky looking things.
RedJasper
Awww she is beautiful. My Rusty is that thin also. I always thought that Rusty looked neglected but he is perfect according to his vet. I don't worry as much anymore. I love him just the way he is. MidnightPaws
She's so cute! Her build looks a lot like my Sophie, she's also skinny and lanky.
