Frenchie
Saw this on my facebook, thought I'd share it on here for people around Kent: PLEASE SHARE TO RAISE AWARENESS Dognappers in Kent. Young man, older woman. They jump fences to check properties out and return the next day. Vehicles reported are white jeep type vehicle with reg beginning PP8 (a false plate), white transits, blue transit, 4x4 and a 7 seater type. Will take any type dog, labs, spaniels, GSD, boxers and in particular any small dog. They are being used for baiting. Being taken from homes, cars and even dogs being walked on leads. Keep your eyes peeled and report anything suspicious, like people asking questions about local dogs etc. - ALWAYS be on guard when it comes to your dogs and animals, there are too many sadistic worthless excuses for human beings out there wanting to snatch them to use for bait or worse! Keeonah
You would think that with all the information that there is on these people that the police would be doing something. Gary.
Frenchie
This is what I thought too, unfortunately I never have much faith in the police when it comes to animal cases.
Frenchie
Some young little girl had her chihuahua snatch off her arms about 15 minutes from where I live, I also had inappropriate questions about Mishka in the old park I used to go to, like "Is she neutered?" and things like that, I've since then changed park. Frenchie
Saw one again, not the same area, but very close, could be the same people operating: PLEASE BE AWARE Surrey/Sussex/Hants dog owners: The alert sent out by Milland News on Friday about three missing spaniels at Shulbrede is now even more serious. The dogs were not just ‘missing’ as described by the police. They had been stolen from their kennel while the keeper was out feeding his pheasants. Last night the thieves returned and took another four dogs, and attempted to take two more. So a total of seven dogs have been stolen right on our doorstep. You will probably see more about this on BBC South Today and in the next Mid & Pet Observer as well as in Milland News but PLEASE ALL BE ON THE ALERT for these very determined thieves and tell the police immediately if you see anything suspicious. It is possible that the eldest of the three spaniels originally stolen might have been dumped as being too old to be of interest so please contact Elle Hubbard on 01428 741438 if you come across a lost black cocker spaniel (he is microchipped). THIS GANG IS SERIOUS and if any of you have dogs in outside kennels, make absolutely sure they are safe. I think that if I were you Margot I would be carrying a tin of spray of some sort. Just in case. I know your not supposed to but when it comes to the safety of your dog needs must. Deal with any fallout later. My wife carries a little surprise just in case. Gary.
Frenchie
This is a smart idea, something to consider, I've heard of some self defence spray gel that is legal in the UK, so will have to look into that, I also always go to the park the same hours so I know the other dog walkers and they know me and Mishka so if something was to happen they'd notice it straight away. Emma
Sounds like travellers to me, looking out to make a few pounds. They have been known in Essex to steal dogs and cut out their microchips, according to my local vet. Very worrying.
Frenchie
Oh god that is disgusting, poors doggies, there seems to be quite a bit of info building up on them, so hopefully they get caught, sooner rather than later would be great! But yes its not only them, its becoming more and more common, I get very paranoid with my girl now.

A can of bodyspray. Sprayed in the right place takes your breath away and stings your eyes, enough time to scream and run. If others are about it also gives them time to phone police. Bodyspray sold in just about any shop so can't be illegal. Gary.
